About the program

The + SCREEN STORIES mentorship program is a transformative initiative designed to build a dynamic, intergenerational, and interdisciplinary network of support and shared expertise within the LGBTIQA+ screen production community. This program uniquely caters to a diverse group of LGBTIQA+ filmmakers, screen storytellers, and game developers by providing tailored guidance and support that respects and celebrates their unique identities and experiences.

Distinct from conventional mentorship models, the + SCREEN STORIES program is rooted in queer mentorship principles, creating a secure and inclusive environment where mentees can thrive both personally and professionally without the constraints of heteronormative expectations. This approach emphasises the importance of authenticity, acknowledges and addresses intersectional challenges, and actively celebrates queer culture and perspectives.

By prioritising the lived experiences of queer individuals, the + SCREEN STORIES mentorship program fosters an atmosphere of mutual growth, resilience, and innovation. This empowering framework equips mentees with the confidence and creativity needed to excel in their fields while cultivating a robust and supportive community.
